Luwa Company History

Luwa’s cleanroom technology division began as the mechanical contracting and service firm Lepco, a Texas-based corporation founded in 1969. We have been focused on the design/build of advanced technology facilities since the early eighties. In 1998, Lepco was acquired by Luwa, Inc., and became Luwa USA, a Group Company of Zellweger-Luwa. Our U.S. cleanroom technology division of the company was located in Houston, Texas, and the United States headquarters was located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In 2005, Luwa, Inc., including its North American business units and product lines, was acquired by Bahnson Holdings, Inc. (BHI). We are now a U.S. company, still headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC.

Today, Luwa, Inc. remains dedicated to providing high quality advanced technology facilities. We are committed to achieving customer satisfaction, by providing quality workmanship, timely completion of projects, a cost effective design approach and a warranted cleanroom performance.

Other business units within Luwa, Inc. are also dedicated to serving high tech industries. Environmental Specialties Inc. (ESI) is a division of Luwa that manufactures environmental chambers for the biopharmaceutical industry. The Mechanical Specialties Contractors (MSC) division of Luwa is a specialty process piping contractor, serving industries such as pharmaceutical and semiconductor.

Luwa, Inc. manufactures its own proprietary Membrane Diffusion® ceiling panels for enhanced airflow uniformity, which is suitable for pharmaceutical applications. We are also the United States distributor for several other product lines, including Luwa filters.
